Best overall AT I've used.
Was wanting to write a review until winter. These worked flawlessly during dry and rainy weather. Zero slips. Had 1.5 inches of solid ice 2 days ago. Truck took it like a champ in 4H (didn't feel the need to put it in 4L or lock the differential, not that you should unless it merits it). I felt like the last man on earth because I was the only one on the road. Felt zero concern of slipping at moderate city speed (45mph). It was actually quite an enjoyable ride. The only area they lack in is mud. They don't throw it off very well at all. They also love holding onto gravel in the tread. Not a major issue, just hear the pinks as they fall out and hit side of truck as driving. So get some side panel protection. You can get through some decent mud puddles and sloshy areas, but after about 10ft of it you end up getting stuck without traction boards. I would put theses tires up against anything else on the market and be completely happy with my purchase. These are my second set in 3 years. Tread wear is good if you don't dog your truck out on pavement. They even have treadwear indicators on tires to show how much tread is left. I'm overly cautious and replaced first set once they reached 40% tread. Overly cautious, I know. But tires are your first like of defense. As a side note, their "sidewall armor" is amazing. I accidently wasn't paying attention and ran off road, hitting a culvert/ditch at 40mph. Tires took it like a champ. He trucks shocks probably took more of a hit than the actual tires. No sidewall breaking or punctures. I would put these tires up against anything on the market and die on this hill defending them. If you have any reservations, don't. These won't disappoint.
Occasionally noisy, but always great traction
I've had these tires for a couple months now and continue to be impressed by the traction. There's an packed snow covered hill near my house that I could easily get up after being stopped 1/2 way up in 2WD, which wasn't possible with stock all season tires. They felt far more resistant to hydropaining when compared to the stock tires. Handling is a little less sharp than the stock tires, but still feels completly stable and predictable. The only downside is that they are sometimes noisy, but not consistently and this seems heavily dependent on the road surface, and at interstate highway speeds varies from barely noticable to annoying. This seemed to improve slightly over a couple thousand miles, or maybe I just got used to it. Despite being road force balanced, and not requiring an excessive amount of weight, they do feel slightly buzzy, and I think this is due to how aggressive the tread is. Speaking of the tread, they do look quite good, if the looks of the tires matter to you. Overall, I think it was a great choice, even if they are a little less refined that other Nokians that I've had in the past like the WRG4.
Too Noisy
These Outpost tires are good in many ways, but too noisy on my Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. Replaced with Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascent. The Bridgestones are much quieter, and I like them.
Great all around tire
These are great tires. I have put these to the test so far and really enjoy them. They have great dry grip, great wet traction, and did really well in snow. I haven't tried them in really deep snow yet but excited to test them out. I live in the mountains and my driveway can be a bit difficult to get up when it's rained as it's a lot of rocks and muddy..these tires do great and hardly slip as they grip (4x2) (in 4x4 these have given me zero issues). They are a pretty quiet tire especially for an all terrain, although compared to the other brands I've ran, I noticed a slight hum from 40-60mph. I previously ran falkens, wranglers, toyos and ridge grapplers. For me I like the ridge grapplers alot but wanted to try something different this time and wanted an all terrain with a solid winter rating. I researched several tires, ratings, etc and found these to be what I was looking for. After putting about 5k on so far, I'm extremely impressed and will be putting them on my f350 as well.
So far very happy. About 2500 miles currently.
Been in the mountains with the F250 and these tires were great in mud and fresh snow. When getting into an area with old crusty snow however, they struggled. I could've thrown on chains and continued on, but had hoped these tires could've gotten me a little further. Still, much better than the Michelins that came on the truck.
Very Noisy Tires
I don't understand the other good reviews. I purchased based on them, but these tires are really bad. They look good, but they are very noisy, and make awful droning and oscillating sounds as you drive. It gets worse the faster you go. I have these on a nice 2020 Grand Cherokee Trail Hawk. I can't get rid of these tires fast enough.
second set of Nokian Outpost. 2500 Denali Duramax.
Great traction in gravel, mud, sometimes snow in North Maine Woods during moose and deer seasons. Treads clear mud and heavy wet snow readily so that there is limited slippage during travel. Durable for managing tire puncturing shale when logging roads are graded especially during dry summer season. Paved road performance is good to excellent with low tire noise initially that increases as the tread depth is worn down. Nokia manufactures the tires with a percentage of wear on the treads (20, 40, 60%) which is a convenient feature. Handling in dry and wet conditions is sure and leaves one with confidence. No hydroplaning on grooved highway water collection. No misgivings with handling at speed as well. This is my second set for the 2015 truck. I use studded snow tires during Winter season.
Very happy with the Nokian Outposts so far
Have these on my 2019 Range Rover Sport (about a year or so, 11K miles) Love the deep tread, and they seem to be wearing very well. Traction is really good in loose dirt and light mud. Snow traction seems to be as good or better that the best AT tries (KO2, Toyo, GY AT) wet traction is good Ride is smooth and fairly quiet for a more aggressive tire. The looks of them is great. Nice looking sidewall/profile. Absolutely no complaints. One of the better AT tires out there. Surprised I'm not seeing more of them. The Outpost nAT IS AMERICAN MADE. Try em out. You won't be disappointed.
Great (Comparatively Lighter) AT Tire
Just recently mounted so not a thorough review but so far, i really like them. Great dry and wet traction, very good on gravel and small rocks. They are lighter than most similar brands, quiet, and they handle great on twisty mountain roads. They look great on the truck too. I'm thoroughly impressed at this point and if that changes I will update.
